Esther and Frank Weigel swing daughter through orchard and vineyard at Everly Farms

As owners of Everly Farms and Everly Farms Winery , Esther and Frank Weigel fulfilled a dream to own an orchard—the winery was “a big, beautiful bonus.” Both from northern California, their vision for the winery is to bring a little bit of Napa to Minnesota where they now reside.

The Weigels want to embrace Minnesota and all it has to offer. In the warm seasons, they will grow their own vegetables onsite and use them for wood-fired pizzas and have a farmers’ market stand in the winery.

In winter, they will add a skating rink, have sledding and bonfires. Families can visit Santa at Everly Farms, their neighboring property, and finish off the day at the winery.

Frank looks forward to expanding the winery. “We want to add a few new things every year, keep making it better and giving people a reason to keep coming back.” There are plans to turn the arena behind the winery into a lofty event space with modern touches, have a large garden with places to sit and sip wine and more.

The family farm and winery name “Everly Farms” is inspired by their daughter, Everly, nicknamed “Evie Bird.” “Easton Cider” is named after Everly’s twin brother Easton. Their hard seltzer, “Seven Seas,” is a reflection of Frank, Esther and their five children.
